District One is where it all began. The first meetings were held in the small town of L’Anse and the association grew from there. Jim Engel is as dedicated to preserving trapping and getting a fair shake for trappers as almost anyone. But he can’t do it alone, even though he has the will to make things “really happen” up in the north country!
